Deep dive — 2026 FBA peak vs non-peak rate card

What changes on October 15, 2026

Amazon's page 2026 US FBA fulfillment fee changes publishes a separate peak card for October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027. Amazon says that on average the peak card has the same per-unit increase over non-peak rates as last year, and that the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge applies to it. The fee is charged when the unit ships, so the ship date decides the rate, not the order date.

For standard-size products that are not apparel or dangerous goods, the peak card is $0.19 to $0.54 per unit higher than the non-peak card, and the increase is the same in all three price columns. Small and large bulky rise by $1.04 at the base weight. Extra-large rises by $2.73 (up to 50 lb), $2.81 (50+ to 70 lb), $4.42 (70+ to 150 lb) and $8.51 (over 150 lb). Apparel rises by $0.23 to $0.67 at standard size, and dangerous goods by $0.34 to $0.90. These differences are computed from Amazon's two tables, before the surcharge.

Peak vs non-peak, every size tier

Products that are not apparel or dangerous goods, before the 3.5% surcharge. The first three columns are the $10–$50 price band; the last two are the peak rate for the other price bands.

Amazon's own examples, peak vs non-peak

Amazon prints both rates for its sample products. A mobile device case (small standard, 2+ to 4 oz, under $10) goes from $2.49 to $2.68. An iron (large standard, 3.35 lb, $10–$50) goes from $7.13 to $7.67. A baby cot (small bulky, 7.90 lb, over $50) goes from $10.21 to $11.25. A 41 lb monitor that bills on 47.59 lb of dimensional weight goes from $44.19 to $46.92, and a 65 inch TV billed at 65.47 lb goes from $48.57 to $51.38. The calculator above reproduces each of these to the cent.

Storage peaks on a different calendar

Monthly storage follows the calendar quarter, not the fulfillment peak window. Standard-size storage is $0.78 per cubic foot a month from January to September and $2.40 from October to December; oversize is $0.56 and $1.40. Dangerous goods pay $0.99 and $3.63 at standard size. Stock that arrives early for the holidays pays the higher storage rate from October 1, two weeks before the fulfillment peak begins.

Frequently asked questions

When do Amazon's 2026 peak fulfillment fees start and end?

From October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027. Amazon charges the fee when the unit leaves the fulfillment center, so an order placed before October 15 that ships on or after it pays the peak rate.

How much more is the peak FBA fee?

For standard-size products that are not apparel or dangerous goods, the peak card is $0.19 to $0.54 per unit higher than the 2026 non-peak card before the fuel surcharge. Small and large bulky rise by $1.04 at the base weight, and extra-large by $2.73 to $8.51.

Does the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge apply to peak fees?

Yes. Amazon says the surcharge applies to the holiday peak fulfillment fees as well, so the peak rate is multiplied by 1.035.

Do products under $10 still get the Low-Price rate during peak?

Yes. The peak card keeps separate columns for products under $10, $10 to $50, and over $50, and the under-$10 column stays the lowest.

Is storage more expensive over the holidays too?

Yes, on a different calendar. Monthly storage for standard-size items is $0.78 per cubic foot from January to September and $2.40 from October to December; oversize is $0.56 and $1.40.
